Broken fuse box latch...need cheap fix

Hey all,

I noticed the other day that the latch on my fuse box was broken, and with it, a small portion of the rear wall of the housing. like somebody pried on it, and the plastic gave before the latch did..

Well, since I can't prove that I didn't do it, or that anyone at my dealership or somewhere else did/didn't do it....they won't replace it under warranty, and they state the cost of the thing at $600!! since the whole box & innerds all come as one piece. I can't just buy a new box. They also say I have to have one that matches my supercrew.

Anyway, I tried haggling with them for a bit, about it and warranty, but they won't budge. so I gotta figure a way to keep it closed with something that won't catch fire or degrade with the engine bay temperatures......Does anyone have any suggestions as to what kind of material I could use that would hold up?

I thought of some strong velcro to make a quick latch but not sure if it'd work well or not...it should keep cool being over in the corner of the engine bay, away from the real hot stuff..any other suggestions? Thanks in advance...

Steal one from somewhere, or check a junkyard.
