I'm glad you got your truck running somewhat better and hope it gets running even better soon.

 

Can you say spark knock............... answer this is the gas in your tank like 86 or 87 octane? if so try a better gas and see if it knocks on you ..It wont do it right away you need to give it afew for it to mix with the water or whatever you have in your tank.

Well, it has been a week and a half, and my '97 is back to fighting shape! It runs great, no pinging, no loss of power, no problems..although it does stumble every once in a while at a stop light, the idle seems a bit low sometimes and it seems like it wants to stall, but then it picks right up and does not bother. I tried to make it do that consistantly, I can't so I am chalking it up to some crud still left in the system. The cause of all this.....bad gas. I drained the tank, like my last post had indicated, and ran it all over the place, with the new gas and some dry gas added just to make sure, it seems to have solved it. Great truck, I can't complain about the truck, I can complain about the bad gas and the Ford garage that got me for $150--and told me my problems were caused by my non-Ford tune up parts. You can be assured, I'm buying my own scanner and going to do my own trouble shooting from now on. Once summer is here, thinking about an exhaust, FIPK II, and maybe even a chip..Hmmm, maybe headers too, as long as my wifes does not find out.. Thanks for the help, truly appreciated.
