i just bought my truck about a week ago, and im getting a VERY small oil drip from the oil filter area. the filter is dry and doesnt apear to be leaking, but the pressure sending unit seems to be the culprit, i have seen many of GM sending units fail and leak, but is this a common problem on the 4.6? im going to pick up a SU and replace it , and hoping that does the trick.

 

Have heard of the unit failing and giving false readings but have not heard of there being a problem with fit. Very possible though, I hope you get it replaced and never have to bother with it again.

replaced the unit at a cost of $9 while i serviced it the other day, seems to not be leaking now.
