Oil Filter location change
You can use a remote filter kit. I had one from Amsoil that worked well. The most important part is choosing a good mounting location. You want it to be accesssible but protected ( at the very least don't let it hang lower than anything else on the vehicle).
Here's the article I did on mine. More pictures in my gallery also. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi
My 99SC BD 11/98 came with remote (upfront) oil filter.
Does make for any easier/cleaner change. Mines 4X4, so 5 gal. can goes right under.
Its mounted on the LH side(horizontal)...on outside edge of frame (forward of front tire)..behind bumper about 8". Sits high and has some protection from the under curve of bumper.
As a mod..guaranteed speed rating!
Good luck...OT
BTW...serious off roaders with this setup may have added some type deflector shield for filter/lines? For me its OK.
