Oil Filter location change

Oil Filter location change

Has anyone changed the location of thier oil filter . I am tired of cleaning oil off the chassis .

You can use a remote filter kit. I had one from Amsoil that worked well. The most important part is choosing a good mounting location. You want it to be accesssible but protected ( at the very least don't let it hang lower than anything else on the vehicle).

what years did they come stock with remote location?

Hi

My 99SC BD 11/98 came with remote (upfront) oil filter.

Does make for any easier/cleaner change. Mines 4X4, so 5 gal. can goes right under.

Its mounted on the LH side(horizontal)...on outside edge of frame (forward of front tire)..behind bumper about 8". Sits high and has some protection from the under curve of bumper.

As a mod..guaranteed speed rating!

BTW...serious off roaders with this setup may have added some type deflector shield for filter/lines? For me its OK.
