'02 Screw, 4.6 Ping
Anyone,
I have a '02 Screw 4.6 /3.55 1400 miles bought on Labor Day. 4 tanks of gas, different stations all 87 octane. I have been reading all the threads about sensors, higher octane, chips, Techtron. I feel with 1400 mi on the truck, the dealer should be playing with this thing! I read one thread that talk about the dealer re-programing the computer? Is there a TSB that tells them to do this? It is going to the dealer on 9/27. Here in MAss / NH we have a lemon law, 3 strikes and your out!I am not going to screw around this time. I want it straighten out, within the 3 times or they will own it! The service manager claims they will straighten it out, we'll see. I love the truck, I've owned nothing but Fords, I just got rid of '99 150 S'cab, 4.6, no ping, "piston slap" and I let it go! I know as soon as I start using 91 occtane to fix this, Pres. Bush is going to bomb Bagdhad into space and we'll be paying $3.00 / gal.
Any info will help, so I can talk some "turkey" with the service manager. Thanks in advance, I love this site!!! I will keep the message board informed on how I make out.
