When I first start up the truck........

I get a rapid ticking for about 3 seconds then
it goes away. Could this be the fuel injectors?
should this be something to worry about? What
do you guys think?

"Hydrolic lash adjusters." Lifters, in other words. They're just getting some oil pressure. It's nothing to worry about. I'd get it checked if it starts lasting longer than during startup, though.

Just to make sure, change your oil filter. Some aftermarket oil filters (especially Fram) do not have anti-drain back valves (or they are faulty). This can cause some oil starvation to the motor on start-up.
Put in a Motorcraft or Purolator oil filter and you can eliminate that as a problem.

Unhappy

I am having the same problem in my truck. I don't agree with the first reply that "it is not a problem". This noise has been growing steadily worse since I bought the truck. I do agree that it is a lifter noise. I have had it to Ford and they agree. However, now I can't get the jerk Service manager to return my calls, most likely because he knows this is going to be a warranty fix. Take it to your dealership and have them confirm and see what they will do for you and let me know will you? I'm going to try a different dealership myself.
