Which oil?

I just purchased my first FORD TUFFFFFFFF truck and am
interested in opinions about which oil to use?? I am
planning on using Valvoline dino oil and change every
3000 miles (new filter each time) as I have done with
all my other trucks (with bow ties) in the past.
I have always gotten 200,000 plus miles out of these vehicles
with out ever having to open the engines up!
Don't get me wrong I have owned FORD in the past just
not TRUCKS (always GM or CHEV) price rules along with
milage!
The last ford I owened was a 1976 LTD totally
bare no options, bought it from an older fellow in 1984
at 12,000 miles drove it till 1991 at 232,000 miles
engine was never opened! Had to scrap no sheet metal left!!
It had a 351 Modified (400 block) and only used Valvoline
SAE20 in the cold cold winter and SAE40 in the summer!

Whats the best now?????

You already know what works.. Trust your experiences.

Use the manufacturer recommended weight (I think now this is 5w-20), mine it's 5w-30, and change every 3k miles..

You'll get 200k+ and never have to open the engine up..

Do a search. Oil has been well discussed on this forum and you will find hours of reading. Don't expect to come out with any conclusions though, as you will get almost as many opinions as post regarding oil usage.

Not again,

Sorry, congrats and welcome. But, do a search on engine forum for oils. Lots of opinions are there.
