Let's talk about a 9-Qt. Oil Filter System
My 450SL V8 Mercedes has a 9 quart oil system using one huge
filter. I started looking around for a 9-quart oil filter system for
my Ford Pickup engine.
I found one after-market oil filter system that completely replaces my OEM filter. It has two huge oil filters, each one holding 2 quarts of oil. The first canister filters particles down to 5 microns in size! That is way below what the normal oil filtration system filters out. The second canister (also holds 2 quarts) filters
out particles down to an amazing 1 micron in size. This interests me greatly because I want my 4.6 V8 engine to last and last.
This particular after-market oil filter sysme is offered by Amsoil. I looked at JEGS and SUMMIT and neither one offered anything close to this one by Amsoil.
Does anyone have any experience installing and using such a unit? Do you know of another unit that is similar on the market?

If you are just wanting more oil in the system you can run a external oil filter system. Things to use would be the oil filter relocation from a f150 4wd. Mount a double filter setup somewhere and use big filters.
If that isnt enough oil you can always get a bigger oil pan. I do not know of any off the shelf for our trucks but i am sure stefs or some shop of the like can get you what you want.

I have the Dual remote on my truck. The install is pretty straight forward. Hardest thing is finding a place to mount it so you can use the larger filters.
I have mine mounted in the grill and have the largested filters on it.
Though I must say it is overkill, even if you mount it under the truck on the frame and use the smaller filters you are doing much better than the stock filter set-up.

I have just changed my full flow filter after 1 year and the oil is still good. I plan to change both filters next year. The by-pass filter is so huge that it will take a long long time to get full of contaminants.

They say one picture is worth a thousand words and your exb site above sure proved that!! Nice, clear photos that tell the story about how this dual fillter system installs.
I am interested in A. Having 9 quarts of oil in the system at all times. B Much better filtration than the standard OEM filter provides. It is dirt that destroys an engine. And having the ability to remove down to 1 micron particles is important to any engine.

Here's something to keep in mind about oil. One of the oil's main jobs is to serve as a coolant for your engine but it is also designed to operate at an optimal temp to be efficient and do it's job. Oil is the one fluid you DO NOT want to keep as cool as you can get it, like say trans fluid. Heat (to a point before someone slaps me) does not kill an engine. They are designed, and are more efficient and powerful at an operating temp. I have an oil temp gauge and I can tell you the oil system in these trucks is well engineered. Almost too good in my opinion. If you had 9 qt.'s of oil, you would never get it warmed up. It's hard enough to get the 6 you have warmed up to a descent temp. Check out this other post for more info. IMO, an oil system that big is definately overkill. That Mercedez I'm quite sure is engineered to run with that much oil, your truck is not.
