Educate your Service Manager. Some of the "big 3" are using synthetic. One example is the Corvette. They roll off the line with Mobil 1 and for 2001 have increased the suggested drain interval to 15000 miles. It was 10000 in 2000. Yes, Chevrolet saying "we reccomend you change the oil every 15000 miles....".
I'm a synthetic convert. I'm on my 2nd change with Mobil 1. ONce I get to 3 maybe (and feel like I've flushed it well) I may go to Amsoil.
