superchip

Ok guys and gals Im new to the forum here nice to meet all you loyal ford owners. My question of the day is 2 part.

1. Does the cost of a super chip warrant putting one in???. In other words will I get the punch they claim it gives.

2. what kind of a mileage hit will I take or does it improve mileage.

3. I lied I have three questions. I was told by a buddy that once you put in a superchip that even if you take it out if you was to trade it in or have warranty work done that Ford can tell that a modified chip has been used by a profile left in the computers memory will snitch me off to the service dept. Is this true???? Im told then that voids any warranty they might have been providing.

Goto the computer chips section and wait for Mike T to answer this question. He goes by Superchips_Distributor. He knows all there is to know.

I don't have any first hand experience with a chip, but from what I have been told, it is one of the few mods that isn't to terribly expensive that does give you a performance boost. I wouldn't expect any great jump in fuel mileage as claimed above, as most the people I've talked to said they didn't really notice any change and some probably less (they admitted that they had a heavier foot after the mod at times). One of the biggest drawbacks is that you will probably have to use premium fuel. That's one of the biggest reasons why I haven't done it.

Hopefully you will get more opinions on this forum from actual users. Sellers of chips are great for answering technical questions, but when it comes to testimonials, remember, they are trying to sell you something. Of course they are going to sugar coat it. Good luck.
