hey 5sp, thanks for the help, but.. I've already replaced all the Oxygen sensors. Code 141 doesn't mean that the sensors are bad, it just means that what they are reading isn't normal, so... it sets a code... I've been reading some stuff, I was wondering if I need to clean the EGR passages, would that do anything for me?

Code P0141 means that H02S heater circuit is open. P0141 directly relates to H02S-HTR-12 which is bank one sensor 2 (right side after cat). Usually and open or short code relating to 02 heater circuits is caused by a bad sensor. Did you previously change all four sensors or just the front two? Maybe this is where they got confused and told you sensors one and two were bad, instead of bank one sensor two is bad. Now if you have replaced the bank one sensor two sensor and still have the same code it could indicate an open wiring problem between the sensor and the PCM. Here is a list of possible causes (taken from 2000 factory service manual for Powertrain control)1. Short to VPWR in harness or H02S 2. Water in harness connector 3. Open VPWR circuit 4. Open in GND circuit 5. Low battery voltage 6. Corrosion or poor mating terminals and wiring 7. Damaged HO2S heater 8. Damaged PCM Hope this helps.

I just replaced the two front sensors, the oxygen sensors. do you think i should go ahead and replace the rear sensors also? If so, where do i get them? will any auto parts joint have them, or should i get ready to bend over and head to ford??

I would only replace the sensor causing the problem. In some cases I have been able to swap the sensors (if the conectors will allow it and they are not to hard to get to) and prove the sensor is bad. It will give you a code PO161 for HO2S 22

Just check bank 1 (passanger side) after the cat. Check the wiring, look for any place that the wire might have rubed against something and caused an open. Trace the wire from the sensor as far as you can and if it looks good, get a new sensor and you should be fine.

I'm not sure what the deal is, but.. after all this pi$$ing and moaning, my check engine light went off. I guess I finally got enough cycles w/o a problem, that it went off. This really baffles me, since I reset the computer after I replaced the O2 sensors. Oh well..
