Truck Shut off at Light
WLF, I think our trucks were built with the same batch of parts!! I have had this problem ever since I've had the truck. Every once in a while some accessory will stop working, and I'll find the fuse on the floor!?!? The radio was harder to figure out, cause it decided to stay in but only disconnect on big bumps. Pretty frustrating, especially since I was hooking up an amp about an hour before the trouble started. If I hit my fist on the steering wheel the radio would cut out for a split second. ARRRGH!

So far, these are the fuses I've had to "modify".

98,
Since this has happened to me I am hearing from a lot of F150'ers that this is a problem. If it is one of the ancillary fuses, something stops working and you trouble shoot from there. If it is one of your PCM or Coil Pack fuses then you stop and it can drive you crazy trying to find out why...

I've experienced a similar problem, but it's only happened three times, with no set pattern of circumstances leading up to it. The first time happened as I stopped at a stop light, truck just died, all instruments seems to go dead and the odometer read a line of dashes! The second time it happened was driving down the road at about 55 mph, not accelerating, not decellerating, just driving. Again, truck just died, all instruments went dead and the odometer was all dashes again. The last time I was slowing down coming to a stop at a traffic light, and it died, same symptoms as the previous two times! My truck is only driven on weekends, so it does sits all throuh the week. I've driven it a lot this weekend just to see if it would happen again, but so far it hasn't. Any suggestions?
I do have a Flip Chip in it, and I pulled the tape off to reseat it just in case, and when I went to push on the chip it felt as if it seated further than where it had been sitting on the connector, but I'm not sure it it was like that before I removed the tape, or if the tape may have pulled it away as it was being removed. I did this Friday night, and so far no more problems.

Ok ive taking the truck back to check the transmission, gotten the vaccum lines checked, checked all the fuses, it hasnt shut off yet, but ive noticed that the rpm gauge is fluctuating. it drops low and then to normal, low to normal. could it be my plugs?> any other suggestions?
dieing engine
As a last resort for all of you having this problem. Check your Camshaft Position Sensor. If this is going bad it will cause intermitent stalls. Could be at lights could be on the road. A lot of times just cleaning it once you pull it out of the engine helps.
The last one I bought was $128 if it ends up not being the problem you will have a spare.
