I cleaned my filter after having it on for about 18months. You could alway's hear the air flowing in, but now the sound is lowder and sounds awesome. here are some pics. I was just wondering when most of you all clean your filters.

I haven't cleand mine yet - only about 10 mo old but do be warned, excess oil can screw up the MAF. I would suggest checking the MAF after driving it for a few days to make sure that there isn't a build up of oil especially on the wires inside.

yea, I cleaned all the excess oil up. One other thing, We went on vacation the day after I did this to the filter, so the thing got to set for a month just drying. When I got back, I put it in and was all ready to go.

Aren't you supposed to use their cleaner?? It has a warning that other cleaners could dry out the element, and open up the gaps in the gauze. Just curious. $10 every 2 or 3 filter cleanings is not a whole lot of money,,,,98
