Question How much boost?

Is anybody running 6# and 3# on an HD truck? I'm looking for advice here and I'm really pretty knew at this so any help would be appreciated.

I have a 2002 HD truck with 3# upper and 4# lower, Diablo chip and cold air intake. I'm considering a 6# lower but I don't know if that will work with 93 octane or what other problems may occur. Can the engine handle that much boost?

I bet that you would get a better reply from the lighting or HD forum. From what I read people really don't get the lower pulleys just the blower pulley. I bet the other forum could better answer your question

Tomato Truck,

I have already changed the lower from stock to a 4# and the sc pulley to a 3#. It is awsome! I just want to go all out. The 6# would basically add 2# of boost.

With the intercooler, 10 psi will be no problem. If going over 6 psi, I'd have a close look at A/F ratios. MMFF just did a pulley swap on the 03' Cobra, they got 9.5 psi, and it was still rich enough. I'd think 8 psi would still be plenty safe with current EEC programming.

First you need to get a real boost gauge, not that POS in the dash. I have an autometer electric gauge with peak recall.

I get just under 11 Lbs boost on a stock 2002 Lightning with just a big K&N filter kit fron LFP.
