Question air intake kits

Any ideas whether or not aftermarket products like the AirRaid intake kit void the factory warranty?

An intake kit will not void your warranty unless you had an issue that the intake kit was directly responsible for, inwhich case the only part of your warranty that would be voided would be the specific issue the intake kit caused to fail (not your entire warranty.)

You won't have any problems with an intake kit. Other aftermarket items such as a chip, pulleys, etc. could give the dealership quite a bit more room to play games since there are many more problems that could be blamed on these type of aftermarket parts. If you ever have a issue that would be covered under warranty, just take off the aftermarket product before you take it in to the dealership and you won't have a problem.

The one thing that I have heard is that the oil filtered kits (K&N)may casuse an MAF sensor to fail. I have not had mine fail yet but I also clean my MAF every time I clean my air filter which is about every 6,000 miles. Well for that matter I change my oil too. It is just a very big day every 6,000 miles. Like the previos post stated if you ever really worry about it voiding your warranty just place the factory approved sytem back when you take it to the dealer. That will be the longest drive ever

Get a kit with a plastic or pvc tubing. The metal looks nice but you want a cold air kit. Not a , "Go#$%$#am that's hot," air kit.
