That 's a problem with your tires not your engine.

Yea
I hate mine too. When I'm pulling my boat on the highway I keep forgetting it's back there.

Mine seems to do the same thing when it rains, but does handle well on snow and ice.

I have the 17" Tires I can floor mine at take off and it will just spin a little. But it will take off very fast for a 5000lb+ truck.

I have the Goodyear RT/S (or is it RS/T? I can never remember) LT245/75R16 -- and even with the 3.73 and 260 HP cannot spin them on dry pavement (and don't try WOT from a dig when it's wet) even doing a 'brake torque'. Those tires stick very well for me.

Ford used to put Goodyear Eagle GTII's on most if not all of it's 17 inch wheels, which probably has as bad of wet traction as any tired I've ever had...

When it is raining and the roads are slick, I have to be careful also and I have the 4.6.
IMHO, the problem is more of an issue with the fact that it is a truck(light rear end and all).
Actually, I have found that on wet pavement, just about any vehicle has less traction. Maybe the problem is really with the wet oily streets.

Now on a ten speed bike I can spin em if I start in 1st gear and really push the peddle down hard.

The point I am trying to make is...take it easy on slick roads. You'll also notice your braking distance will increase, which could really cause a problem.

You must have the only good set of RT/S in the world, then. Those crappy things came on my truck stock, and were off in less than 2000 miles. The thing would leave twin black marks for over 20 feet on dry pavement and on wet pavement....well, I think the bare rims would get more traction. More than just being a sorry tire, it is a DANGEROUS tire.

I know that GY does actually make some good tires, although I have never had any of them.
