I have a 2002 5.4, and whenever the AC compressor clutch engages, it makes a loud clunk. I can hear it in the cab with the windows closed, and feel it through the brake peddle. Is this normal? I would like know how common this is before I take it to the dealer and get the “they all do that” response.

Unless you have bat ears, your truck is definitely not normal. You should barely notice it, if at all.
