Probably very close to the same weight, I think motor oil is just a little heavier but both are lighter than water.

I think it works out to about 6.5 lbs / gallon. For reference, water is about 8 1/3 lbs / gallon.

If I remember correctly, a gallon is eight pounds. English measurement set a pint of water to one pound, hence 8 pints to a gallon.

Cool

1 cubic foot of water weighs 62.4 lbs give or take very little depending on temp in the liquid state.

Roughly 231 cubic inches to a gallon.

1728 cubic inches to a cubic foot.

(62.4 lbs/ft^3)*(231 in^3/gallon) / 1728 in^3/ft^3) = 8.34 lb/gallon

Question

Maybe this is the reason for a lot of members saying their rigs are lower on the drivers side? Or why the drivers side torsion bar is cranked more then the passengers? That is an extra 150 lbs of weight on the drives side when the tank is full (which doesn't stay that way for very long @ 14mpg!!) Just a thought.
