ROUGH IDLE OR NOT?????
I have 10,500 miles on mine and it idles rough and after allowing it to warm up, it will stumble almost to the point of dying when initially shifted into either Drive or Reverse. I tried different gas, disconnected the battery to reset the computer, kicked the damn thing and it still does it. Kind of embarassing. Feels like a $2,500 truck not a $32,000 one.

Poor idle for day one. Seems overly sensitive to gas brands, weather, etc. Sometime OK, usually not. Gets worse in low humidity conditions.
History: replace crankshaft position sensor, #4 coil.
My '88 Honda Accord with 4cyl carb engine was smooth as glass in comparison.

Have you tried a high quality injector cleaner? Not sure how many miles you have on your truck, but some funky gas might be affecting the injector port area.

i have a 00' f150 that what seems to be a little rough idle but i also get a small vibration at 1500rpm and 2200rpm i only noticed it after i had a oil change and i think they used crappy oil i am going to try a different oil and hope that fixes it
I just got my 2001 F-150 4.6 Romeo (trytorun V8) back from the dealer again today. It's idled rough since the day I picked it up. The dealer has gone over all the gimmicks i've seen mentioned here. Air sensor changes, Computer resets , engine vibration analysis etc.
According to service they have identified a fix. The following is a direct quote from my service invoice "Ford will be releasing a techincal service bulletin (TSB) probably in the fall for this fix. It will probably consist of replacing motor mounts and reprogramming the PCM."
I hate to be negative but I have zero confidence this will resolve the issue. My novice opinion is that relatively static components such as motor mounts will function the same regardless of temperature & weather conditions. The vague wording makes me even more suspicious. This information supposedly came from the Ford hotline. I'm very curious to see if anyone else gets the same story or can verify the rumored TSB.
Till then i'll have to tolerate having my filling shake loose at every light until I can get enough shop time to start Lemon law procedings. Good luck everyone !
