Jammers are Illegal. Transmitters are regulated by the FCC (federal government). States are only allowed to put more restrictions on a Federal statute not less. The so called Passive Jammers or re-radiators just take your hard earned money and place it in someone elses pockets. A Radar detector and smart driving are your best defense.

"Jammers" are illegal if they transmit yes,....but, most of these "Jammers" get away with being sold legally because they don't technically transmit....they just scramble an already incoming signal which is not illegal, then, it's just reflected back.
They're a much better idea then detectors, you don't have to slow down, or have to worry about a cop turning his radar on when you're already by. I've never owned a detector or jammer, but, a good friend of mine has the Phaser, and swears by it, I can't really comment on any of the makes or models.

Cool

Go to www.radartest.com and see how useless the jammers are. There have been tests on other sites and reports in various magazines as well that show how they are just stealing your money. Laser guns can be flooded with IR but Radar guns need to receive what they send out or a replacement signal that is stronger than the reflection they get off your vehicle. Best case scenario they may get a bad reading but they will just keep pointing at you until they get a good one.
There are several Police officers on this site that can offer their oppinions as well. If you are going to spend the money buy a detector not a jammer.
