areyou talking about dropping in a fresh engine into a 92 bronco? well that depends on how much $$$ you want to spend. you could get a 300 6-cyl, they got plenty of torque. or you could build up a 302 or351 on a budget. or hell, you could just drop in a 460. what exactly are you looking for?

a 460 is a 7.5 liter. if money is not an option, i would stick to an older pushrod engine and just build it up to whatever you want. the 460 for instance makes some insane torque with all those cubic inches. be warned though, gas mileage will DROP! you could also go with a 351W and add things such as aluminum heads and edelbrock intake and if all that isnt enough, you could add a supercharger later on. since youre looking for high horsepower remember youre going to want to change the transmission for something that can hold the power.

Donates a smart guy! 351/460 would be a good choices!
Don't forget you'll have to beef up your suspension up front with the 460..that thing is a HEAVY ****.

yeah

Ok, some older pushrod, i thought about the tranny too, but aren´t there any "ACTUAL" engines i could swap in easily, here in Ecuador it would be hard to get spares for an older one

well is there any place that sells engines there? around here there's plenty ofplaces that sell new 351 shortblocks for about 1800, with 0 miles (not rebuilt, completely fresh). what do you have in the bronco right now? are you planning to go carb. or fuel injection?

Talking i have

I have the standard 5.0 EFI, it has 250.000Km, it´s very alive yet, it has one fix

I would like a newer engine, like a 4.6 or 5.4 v8 ford because of emissions, i don´t like to be a bad citizen , but i dont know if i can swap them in, if there are any mods (easy to install and mantain) that will beef up my 5.0 i would like to know too

theres PLENTY of mods to beef up that 302. you can do aluminum heads, edelbrock intake, march underdrive pulleys, high compression pistons, mass air conversion, roller camshaft swap, roller rockers, and if these arent enough you could always just drop in a blower. as far as a newer engine swap (such as 4.6 or 5.4) i cant help you there since ive never even seen a swap like that. if you decide to keep the 302 and build that up, check out the pre-97 section of this message board, theres plenty of people there who can help you out. good luck!

Yup, there are pleanty of mods available for a 302. You could also go get a 351w block and swap out the 302 pretty easily since most of the stuff outside the short block is the same. My friend reads those mustang magazines and told me they pulled out a 302 dropped a 4.6 into a fox body mustang, and logged 60 hours in the wiring alone. You would likely have to swap tranny, transfer case, driveshaft and a ton of other miscelaneous gobbly goop that would be quite a task to make work right.

thats sounds right donate. I think is you have a MAS you have 10 extra hp over speed density...I think... Peah hp is at 4000 RPM peak torque is a 2400 RPM. To get 280 hp wont be that hard for you. If you do intake, exhaust, pulleys, headers, electric fans, and a superchip ... from those alone youll be making a nice increase over stock probably 40+ hp, drop on some GT-40 P cylinder heads, intake manifold, and throttle body and you should be close to 300 if not over it. You will really have a beast.
