JMC,

I am unsure at this point. What if I used a torque converter from a F-150 5.4 instead of my 4.6 or a lightning 5.4 with my 4.6 trans. that has the Baumann shift kit with longer supercharger spring and two sonnax valves installed by me ? ....would the lower 1.9:1 ratio of the f150 5.4 torque converter enable my slightly modified 4.6 trans. to live a little longer?

When you can find a used 4R100, they are not very costly. I would prefer to use the 4r100, but I would also need the lightning PCM, powertrain wiring harness and custom lenght driveshaft. Combined cost of these 4 items would blow a hole in my wallet!

ih,

Just bear in mind that the $$ you are sepending now will be wasted if the tranny blows up. BTW how are you getting around using the PCM from a Lightning now?

I have only purchased the used 2000 Lightning engine. I have not installed anything yet.
