Hey there is this guy that is talking major sh** about my truck and he has a STOCK V6 mustang Convertable 2000, nothing done to it, manual transmission and nothing else, and he doesnt know anything about his car, he just says it fast?!?

I say you can take him if his is bone stock since he has a rag top that added some wieght to his car making the difference a little bit closer but he is still a little lighter than your truck but with the 3.55 rearend and mods you should beat him.

 

You could always sneak a few things out of your truck before you too race to lighten it up ... spare tire, back seats perhaps, make sure you only have 1/2 a tank of gas. Also, either put your tail gate down or take it off completely, it adds a whole bunch of drag to your truck ...

He is on average 1 second faster than you, sorry.

Stock the converts 5spd's will run 15.7 - 16.3.

With your mods you are just barely breaking 16's, if that you are low 17's.

 

Removing the tailgate actually adds to the drag of our trucks, this has been proven by a windtunnel experiment by some college kids. You can find the info if you search the Lightning forum.

Well a mustang is at 190hp stock with a lot of weight to carry around considering its a vert. I think it should be fairly close. Check out the forums on www.corral.net/forums if you want to know the answer since the people there know about mustangs.

 

the vert is heavier than the coupe, but its still lighter than your truck. i think the stang has got you. go race him and find out, just dont put any $$$ on it

What is double shifting?!?. He should beat you if he can drive his car. If he can't drive his car then it would be close. Good luck.

I know my V6 Mustangs thats for sure, He will have you even if he can shift somewhat ok. He's a half to one second faster than you w/ your mods.

What's the point of double shifting???

I drop the clutch at 3,000... do a quick normal shift to 2nd... then I speed shift to 3rd... and speed shift to 4th.
