Filter Injection Performance Kits
What is the difference between paying for one of these kits and doing the mod yourself? I put a K&N filter on myself, then using a guide I read under the Technical Articles section of this site, I modified my intake to allow more air in. Instead of making my own seal using a ring of metal, I just used a hacksaw to cut the stock intake tube about 3" from the end that fits into the clamp (just far enough to keep the posts that mount into the bracket in the engine compartment.) Seems to me this was a lot cheaper (free!) and produces the same results, correct?
