Angry 75mm throttle body sucks

I installed this Edelbrock/BBk throttle body on my 2000 150 w/ 5.4 and it will not idle at 600rpms when you let off slowly,it idles at 1250,but when you snap the pedal it will. I diconnected all the linkage and had the same results. The instructions said diconnect the I.A.C. connector. Where is this? The tech support at Edelbrock said call BBK and BBK said that they did not know and I should talk to an engineer!

Cool

The IAC is usually right on the throttle body, and has a small motor on it. There are some wires coming out of it. It allows air to bypass the throttle body's blade at idle. The ECM controls it to maintain idle. You may be bypassing too much air. Some TB's have a hole in the blade large enough for idling, and some allow it to enter around the outside edge of the blade.

I'm sorry you're having these problems with the throttle body. I figured Edelbrock would help you out instead of blowing you off. I hope everything works out ok.

IAC= Idle air control

It is a valve as stated that leaves the butterfly closed and the computer to compensate for the idle.

What I would do is get a 5/16" drill bit and drill a small hole in the butterfly. People have done that on the BBK/Edelbrock TBs for the stangs and clears it right up!

Always start small and then go larger on the hole size.
