Post Ford Quality, where is it?

Today I went and test drove 3 new Expys with the 5.4 and all 3 had problems. The 1st one had a problem with the motor. It had no power. Doing 55mph, I got on the gas (not floored) and it didn't down shift and felt like it was missing. Infact, the more gas I gave it the less power it had. It got stuck at 60mph at just over 3000rpms and wouldn't go any faster until I babied it. Then when I had to stomp on the gas pedal to merge onto traffic, the rpms went way up, but the truck was just putting along. I got scared and let off the gas peddle at just over 4500rpms. When I did this is made a short screaming sound the shifted. What a peice of junk! Also this had a steering problem, it wondered all over the place. The 2nd one I drove had great power and shifted awsome. The problem was when I would slow down the brakes vibrated like crazy between 30-45mph. BTW both the above were built in '00, one in August and the other in December. The 3rd was built in Feb of this year. This one rode pretty good, and everying felt good until I came to a traffic light. In gear, you could feel the idle through out the truck and I though it was going to make my teeth rattle. It also didn't have the same power as the 2nd truck I drove but not bad. What I don't understand is why does it seem that all 3 new 2001 trucks I drove have problems? I always here that the trucks are a cash cow for Ford these days but with Ford building lemons, I think soon, no one will want to buy one. What a shame. Tomorrow I go and test drive some chevys to see what their new 5.3 runs like. Only thing that makes me worry about them are that they don't hit their peak torque till around 4000rpms and I havn't like GM since the lemon I bought from them back in '85.
