My next door neighbor has a 1988 F-150 with the 4.9L six cylinder that has over 225,000 miles on it. The motor is pretty well shot and he is going to put a remanufactured engine in it. I'm going to be helping him replace the engine and wanted to know if their are any problem areas to look for and if you have any tips on making this swap go as smoothly as possible. The engine has fuel injection and a manual transmission. Thanks for any replies.
