Radiator and Engine Tapping Question
First of all, howdy, nice site, glad I found it.
I have a 2000 F-150 4X4 SC with the 5.4 Triton motor in it. Class III tow package was also purchased as an option on the truck. The engine has a tapping / knocking sound upon start-up....I saw a post on here that led me to believe it may be piston slap, any more info on that would be greatly appreciated as I dropped the truck off last night at the shop and expect to be dealing with them today. Another concern I have is the radiator issue, I was told by the service tech 5 minutes ago that it is in fact the incorrect radiator but that he would have to "get with Ford on that" to see how they were going to handle the situation. What are my options? Does anyone have part numbers or spec sheets that I can use to further my case with these people? So far they have been helpful but I'd prefer to be prepared for the worst while dealing with them.
Thanks for any help you can give.
