PPI Duel fn Kit

I put in a PPI Fan kit lasty week. The instructions were well written. Wireing instructions were simple to follow. Take your time and it will be easy. I played in the Dunes yesterday and the fans made a difference. The truck never overheated and there was more power available on a hotter day. 60° in April 02 without electric fans vs 90°+ yesterday. For those of you with 99& newer trucks test your cylinder head temp before install in various situations, towing hard acceleration, etc. and note them. Once the fans are installed check them again. You will be able to tell if the fans are working.
Before any one asks; press odometer reset button and hold. Turn key to run and wait till the leds indicate test. Immedialty start and release the button. Once the gage sweep is completed press the the button repeatedly untill degC??? shows. (??? is the value; ie 055, in degrees Celcius.

The electric fan kits sound great... unless you're running 1000w+ of car stereo... then you'll need all the electrical energy your alternator can give.

BTW, the OE 130A unit isn't good enough and I'm only pushing around 700wrms (because of my light load on my sub amp - ohms). Anyhow, if I were running 2 ohms a channel or 4 ohms mono I'd be at over 1200wrms total output. Of course electrical INPUT watts is WAY higher. The OE alternator is good for around 1700watts gross... take away ignition, computer, sensors, instruments, ventilation fan, lights, etc.

I'm already researching specs/pricing on 200A alternators.

Ahhh... it's only money right. DOH.

I am not an aficionado of sound systems. I was brought up on tin can car radios. One speaker in a metal dash. I can relate to your power requirements though. My winch draws up to 400 amps. It can suck the power out of a battery real quick. Pullpal, http://www.pullpal.com sells high amp alternators. Big $$$ for 190 amps. I guess next purchase will be an Optima battery.
