I have two friends whom have wasted their money on these things. They caused more of a restriction than anything!

These stupid things are put into the air stream prior to the intake/throttle body/plate. If they actually did swirl the air it would be disrupted once the air reached the throttle plate.

At least this is how I see it!

Even if the spacer were put after the TB, the air would only swirl into the plenum. The swirl would never get to the combustion chamber. Doesn't make any sense from an engineering perspective, you are just adding resistance to flow.

Snake Oil!

Just a thought. If something as simple as a Tornado Fuel Saver actually worked then why don't the auto manufacturers design the intake to do this from the factory. With all the pressure from the government to increase fuel economy along with the pressure from the customer base for, as Tim Allen would say, more power (grunt grunt) then the cheap and simple design change would make everyone happy.

My vote is for snake oil.

Here is the Tornado web page.

www.tornadofuelsaver.com

It's just a piece that goes into the air intake and is supposed to swirl the air making it flow better.
