are all 351w's the same?
are all 351w's the same?
im considering a 351w swap into my truck and i havent found any 351w's that have been pulled out of trucks, but ive found some that have been pulled out of passenger cars (crown vic., etc). are these the same engines as the ones in trucks? i know cams and intake manifolds and some other misc. parts might be different, but are they essencially the same? another thing, if the 351w was originally carb'ed, can i switch it to efi with no problem (as long as i have all the parts, of course)? thanks!
ps. im talking about the 351w's only, not the 351C or M

Donate - I get 6mpg. Now - this IS NOT the norm. When it was running healthy, I got about 9 around town and 14 highway.
Note: Motor has 149k on it, so I dont expect much more than it to run. LOL

I may have already covered this elsewhere, but I'm not positive, so I'll say it again:
Starting in 1994, the 351W became a roller block. While you can use pre-'94 flat tappet cams and lifters in a roller block, you can not use a factory roller cam and lifters in the pre-'94 block, unless you install a conversion kit, and even then, you are usually limited to the cams made by the company that made the conversion kit.
Take care,
~Chris
