FORD did a oil change
Listen to this.... I took my truck in to ford to get my oil changed at 3000 miles.. and for two weeks after that I was getting some sorry gass mileage and I went to hook up my MTX 1000D amp for my system and i opened the hood and the OIL cap was OFF!!!!! I was driving for 2 weeks with NO OIL cap.. they forgot to put it back on they left it in the hood part... Will that mess up anything in short/long run or is it ok???

I'm not sure what I'd do in your case.
The odds of getting more dirt, moisture etc into the oil are increased..
I think if your polite to the service folks, explain what happend, and that you think the best remedy is to get the current oil/filter changed. Because it was their mistake, this change should be at their expense.. (I would think a dealer would look to keep a satisfied customer for less than $20, which is probably their cost).

I would scream bloody murder at the shop manager. Your vacuum system was pulling a tremendous amount of unfiltered air thru your engine.
At a minimum, the dealer should drain your engine oil and change the filter. Hell, if I was in your situation, I'd make them pull the valve cover off the passenger side of the block and inspect the cam for any scratching from sand/grit that might have gotten sucked into the engine. I don't think it would damage anywhere else since the filter should have taken care of it before the oil was pumped everywhere else.
They can't deny that it happened because how else would you know where the service guy leaves the oil cap?

I would dump that oil right now!
Then I would go back to the dealer and raise some hell!!
I don't think you hurt anything!

i used to have a honda civic and i had the brakes redone and as i was driving off and merging onto the freeway i hit the gas and the thing was like twice as loud as normal, but only under load.... I sounded like a ricer... anyway, i got home and the air filter was sitting on top of the filter box... i dont know if it was an honest mistake or they were trying to fool me (it turned out that they had charged me for a "new" brake rotor that turned out to be just a machined old rotor when i looked at it later that day.... thats why i think the air filter thing was probably done on purpose so i would come back and complain about it and be told i needed a whole new intake or something.... needless to say after my warranty's up i'm going to do all my own work on my cars from here on out.
