Red face Wrong Rad on 2000 F150

Well I'm joining the group.
Just purchased a new 2000 F150, 5.4, with the Class III towing group. Thank God I found this site or I never would have realized I had the 1.02 Rad.
I called the parts dept. at the dealer first.( Mel Hamilton Ford in Wichita Ks.). I told him what I had and he pulled it up on the Comp. He said I should have the 2 row Rad. He asked me what I wanted to do.DAAAAA!. I said put the one in I payed for. He said to get with my saleman. I told him to and he said he would and would have the salesman order it. We'll see what happens.

jb2001-

It depends on what you mean by 2 radiators. What you might be seeing is the radiator and then the air conditioning cooler in front of the radiator. Then there will be one, maybe two smaller coolers further in front and set lower. These are the power steering and tranny coolers.

To check the radiator start by looking at the passenger side of the radiator. The upper radiator hose will hook into the black plastic radiator tank. The radiator core will attach to that tank. There will either be one or two cores but they *will* attach to the side tanks. The radiator for the air conditioning system will be in front of the engine radiator and will *not* attach to the black plastic tanks. If you have a tranny or power steering cooler they will be much smaller radiators sitting low and close to the bumper. These are easiest to see through the grille.

Hope this helps answer your question.
