Where can I buy a crate motor?
Does anyone know where I can buy a quality Ford crate motor? I'm shortening an '86 F350 crew cab into sweet little 4x4. It's diesel engine is pretty tired and I cant seem to find anyone who sells Ford crate motors. I'm thinking a nice mild 460 should do the job. Feel free to email me.

Ford Racing Performance Parts sells 460 Big Block short blocks and crate engines. The crates are Aluminum CJ head based. A)460cid/486HP/$5,595 B)460cid/535HP/$5,595 C)514cid/600HP/$6,895.

I've had fast reliable service from Racesearch.com. It's a couple hundred dollars less than purchasing it directly from Ford Racing but it will still be shipped directly from Ford to you.

Bigearl, have you looked into buying a Jasper rebuilt engine. They do alot of Fords, so a 460 wouldn't be too hard for them to get.
A friend of mine put a small block (complete) in his 93 f-150 and got a better price than all the other places around + a good warranty.
