Cool

Here it is in a Mustang..

It has a Cobra R hood (cowl induction) for some clearence. I think if a Mustang front end, derived from the mighty Ford TRX, can handle it, a truck front end could too

HI!... The reason FORD's did'nt install the V-10 in the F-150's origanally was because the truck would'nt pass the "CRASH" test that the GOVERMENT asks for. There would be virtually NO "CRUSH ZONE". At least that's what the SVT ENGINEER told me. But their working on that, he said with a smile.LOL!

From what I read, the main reason for the new front end on the F-250 and up was because the v10 Would not easily fit under the stock F-150 hood. Of course home mechanics are always doing things that "CAN'T BE DONE". LOL.

Cool

You would have one of two choices to drop a V10 in the F150. First, gently massage the firewall to land in the same motor mount position from the 5.4L. If you did this then there would be some other small modifications that you would have to do inorder to get the motor running. Second, move the mounts, eliminate the pulley fan and go to electrics. Move the motor up towards the front and then mount there. If you did this, you will have to make new lines for fuel, etc. along with possible exhaust mods to make the stretch to the original exhaust OR just drop a new exhaust while your at it. BUT the only thing that you would have to worry about, is getting it passed all of the emission stuff should it still be under their classifications. They may consider the truck to be too modified which may put it in a higher category instead of a road driven category. Not sure on that though. The SVT guy that Neal is talking about wasn't to elaborate on the info. as there was other people around us. He did let his smile say alot when he was asked if they have some right now on the road and whether they would produce one. He answered, he wasn't sure with a big smile on his face. I know there are some running around because a certain member on this board knows high people in Ford and one of these people is driving a V10 Ford right now or atleast was. If I had the chance to build one and play like Neal has done to his truck. It would be done !! To me, the SVT guys and girls are just like us, they want sleek, fast vehicles. They just have the corporation behind them for money where we have to do it the hard way. My prediction, all in due time will you see one on the road whether factory or back yard produced, there will be one. And heck, it might even be one of us F150onliner's that does it.

Have Fun & Keep on Truckin'
