how would i find out what kind of gears i have, for example like 355's etc.... I have a 1998 extended cab 4.6 v8 thanks

check the little tag bolted onto your rear end with one of the housing bolts. The first few numbers (355, 327) is the ratio you have.

Just post the axle code from the tag inside the frame of your door and we'll tell you what you have.

 

Look at your axle code on the label inside your driver's side door. Most likely you will see 19 (open,3.55) or H9 (LS,3.55).
