A little update for anyone who cares...

This is f*ck*ng BS... Nobody is returning any calls. THe service manager has copped an attitude and has basically told me that the zone rep will call when he feels like it and there ain't a damn thing he's gonna do to help to get me in touch with him. Arrgh! As much as I like the F-series, if I have to get a lawyer involved this will definately be the last Ford that I'll ever buy!

Y2K OffRoad,
WWBF150 mentioned the DSB, follow his suggestion. I myself and another ford owner on this board just went through the DSB. We had the notorious rough idle in the F-150 5.4 engine. Ford could not fix this problem. When you submit your case it will be brought up at the next board meeting, they meet once a month. This is an arbitration hearing and we proved we had faulty engines. The DSB awarded us a replacement truck or a 100% buy back. I chose the buy back and received all my money back. After fighting the dealership and ford for 2 years I wanted nothing more to do with ford. All the information is in your owners manual on the DSB.
Don't waste any more of your time with your dealership.I won't even say good luck because you have more then enough documented problems to win your case. When they contact you make sure you tell them you want to appear before the board in person. The hearing will take place near your dealership, you won't have to drive to Southfield, Michigan.

Question

Anyone else have experience with the Dispute Settlement Board? I'm curious to know what happened, how long it took, and some of the other details.

Rj, do you have any advice of what to include in the inital letter to the DSB? Did you include copies of your records at that time, or did you wait for them to ask for them? How long did it take from tiem time you wrote to them until you received a response, and from that point how long until you met with them? How long after meeting with the board was it until you got your decision?

I'm drafting my letter now, so any advice would be helpful. Thanks!

I had to use the DSB so if you have questions email me at slowguy@my-deja.com. As you have read by now there is a process you have to follow. Documentation is a must.
Good Luck

Talking

For anyone who is interested, here's an update.

Well I finally got a piece of good news today. The customer relations person from the dealership just called and told me to come in Thursday morning at 10am to meet with the service manager and the zone rep! I'll report back in a couple days.

I'm still going to proceed with writing the DSB, but I'll wait until after the meeting before I mail it. Just in case....
