As I said before I N-E-V-E-R intended my post to be an all out flame war. And I mean it! But, hell, if you guys wanna throw **** at me, I'll throw **** at you. I can play your game, which is exactly what I did.

The reason I posted here is because I wanted to defend the C3. Just like you Ford boys hate other people putting down your products, I don't like people putting down my products. I really go on the defensive, which obviously shows here . But unintentionally I just made it into an all out FvC war (hey if you like that stuff, go to fordvschevy.com. I'm already a member ). Ok I guess you're right, I got off course here.

The comments about my car being trash I will completely ignore because I know they are not true. And my mom and my computer and so on and so on. My car is awesome, and I don't expect you guys to see that because you like trucks and not cars. (HELLO, NOT a flame! Don't go postal! ) No I'm not 10 years old (who came up with that, a 2 year old?). I'm a 24 year old with two college degrees working in corporate America that had way too much time on his hands over the weekend expressing his freedom of speech. But again, like you, I get all flared up when it comes to FvC.

Enough said, I don't want this to go any farther. I think you will agree too......some of you simply overreacted but that's just human nature.

Oh please! You started with your BS here, and WE overreacted? This IS a FORD site. If you don't like what's said here, too bad. YOU have to defend the GM "trucks"? Always when someone flames another car on some other site, the person realizes their mistake and the members accept it. Everyone except this bunch.

 

Bottom line is, I don't go bad mouthing Chevies on Chevy sites, Dodges on Dodge sites, and Jeeps on Jeep sites.

I'm not stupid enough to step into it on foreign turf! They can diss Fords, or whatever competing brand there is, all they want on their sites.

So, Visitor or Visitor2, you have 2 college degrees. Didn't you take any science or stats courses? If you did, then you'd know why your statement upset me.

At any rate, if you want to learn about Fords, then you're welcommed to participate here. If all you want to do is defend GM products, then be prepared for an onslaught of opposing opinions.

I have to concur with Dennis on this one. While your apology was sincere and appreciated, the basic mistake you made was coming to a Ford enthusiast board and bad-mouthing the products we have a great deal of pride in. I was, at first, concerned at the type of repsonses you were getting since your original posts were certainly non-argumentative and thought provoking (which is cool). However, they quickly grew into attacks on our trucks (which is not cool). I am sure you are a very intelligent person and have a lot of good opinions to offer. However, when those opinions become overly critical, problems will ensue.

I have been a member of this board now for over two months and have to say I have never met a more responsive, helpful and knowledgable group of people. However, coming in here and saying negative things about Ford products (especially when you don't own one) will be met with as much vigor as a Redskins fan going into Texas Stadium and bad-mouthing Emmitt -- only bad will come out of it.

Here's the deal guys. Ford's F-150 is a 1/2 Ton pickup. Chevy's C3 is a 3/4 ton pickup... the two aren't supposed to be compaired! I've raced many a chevy in my truck. Sometimes you win... sometimes you loose. It's all in how you drive. I've watched a stock Honda Accord outrun a Mustang GT, and vice versa. If you can't drive, get off the road. And another thing; to compare the F-150 to the C3 as far as towing and hauling... let's think about this... of course the Chevy will come out on top; it in a different class! Compare an F-150 to a new Silverado, on the other hand, and you might just get some very different results. Sure, pump up any truck and you will outrun anything on the road. Buy a reciprocating mass kit for all I care, but the fact is, power-to-weight ratio and hp-tq ratings is what it comes down to. Ford has been known for its low end torque and excellent power-size ratio. Ford is legendary for extremely high torque ratings. Chevy is known for it's small block horsepower at the sacrifice of some torque.
The C3 may be able to pull 8,700 pounds, but equip an F-150 with the 7700# payload group and it will pull 8,800. It's all in how you drive and manage your vehicle.

Oh and a little hint for everyone with a triton... if you want to catch some people in races, put it at about 3/4 throttle, rev it to about 3500-4000 (peak hp), let off for the upshift and slam it. I've coaxed my STOCK 5.4 into some mid 7's and mid 15 quarters.

Your wrong the c-3 is a half-ton. Look things up before you open your mouth. You might think its 3/4 ton because the only models that get 6.0L are 2500 and up. The c-3 is a piece of crap.

The C3 isn't a 3/4 ton? could've sworn I read that. Oh well, I'm still a biased Ford person, just making some observations. I've always been against Chevy... been that way since I was born. I was raised better than to love Chevy. Besides, I'm gonna do a project F-150 of my own sometime soon... gonna try to transplant the V-10 & transmission/case combo from a donor F-250

 

actually daveh, gmc does not list the c3 as a 1500 or a 2500 www.gmc.com/sierra/models.html
this thing is for a nitch market kind of like the lightning, lincoln blackwood, the hummer and now the c3. this is not a vehicle for the masses. as neat as the lightning is believe it or not some people think it is stupid of ford to build a fast truck. just as some of the v-6 guys think we are stupid for spending extra money for the 5.4 v-8.
as far as the extra cost. some people buy honda and some people buy bmw and mercedes. for some people 39 k isnt a lot for a truck, how much is a navigator or a blackwood?

 

I think they want 47,000 dollars for blackwood. There is only going to be limited production and all those features I guess. In 2003 The F-150 is due for 5.4L 3v a cylinder engine. Not sure if its still a sohc or dohc. I know they are still going to put 5.4L 4v dohc in navigotor blackwood. The new 5.4L is supposed to have from 310hp-325hp and between 365-385hp. You could check out other revisions of F-Series at www.Blueovalnews.com. Just click on new vehicles and schrool down to F-series. Sounds like a good future for Ford trucks!
