Question fuel filter question

At what mileage should you replace your fuel filter--where is it located, how tough to replace, do i need any special tools and do i need to bleed off the pressure from the fuel line?

I just changed my fuel filter this afternoon and it was not too difficult. The hardest part was pulling the filter out of the bracket on the frame. I went to NAPA and bought the tool and filter, both for 19.00. Do not forget to unhook the negative battery post and be sure to wear safety glasses. Some have said that you have to relieve pressure in the line but I did not have to do it. My truck seem to be running different now though and I am not sure why. It seems to be running a little lower RPM at idle. Normally it would idle at or near 1100 RPM and now it wants to idle at or near 800-900. I don't know if it is because I reset the computer or not, but I would love some input.

Thanks for posting this. I had thought the filter had to be changed at 15,000 miles. Turns out I misread the Maintenance Sched. What I saw was actually for the SuperDuty series.
