I wouldn't mind painting my radiator cover but it will take some time. I haven't taken it off yet so I have no clue what it looks like without it. Do you think it is safe to drive without the cover on?

 

I drove with mine off to see if it would get more air to the open air intake system. This was in the fall and the engine compartment got so filthy and full of leaves, I put it back on after about a week.

You shouldn't have any problems if you have it off for a while.
