Smile Installing a "real" oil pressure gauge.

A couple of months ago I installed an Autometer mechanical oil pressure gauge and I must admit it was a difficult job. I ended up using brass nipples, elbows, 45's etc so as to keep the factory sender. Yesterday, I removed the mess that I had created and installed an adapter that I purchased from www.preluber.com for $65. Here's a small picture of the part.

It was easy to install, and allowed me to keep the factory sender and hook up my mechanical gauge. The adapter has a 1/4" pipe thread port on it, and can be rotated to any position. It makes for a clean factory look, and reduces the chance of an oil leak. With my previous arrangement, I had something like 8 connections and had a very small leak from one of the fittings.
