CEL light came on and it was P0304,miss at #4 cyl.,ohmed out coil pack and #4 slightly different from rest. put on the MSD packs with the fomoco perfom. wires and changed out the boshes for the hell of it. took it up on 190 and got pulled over by DPS in a F150.no ticket just truck talk, problem solved.

I have a 97 F150 4.6l with 65k miles. Got a misfire in cyl #4 as well. I was going to try to find the failing component but after reading your post and similar I've decided to change out coil packs, plugs and wires.

thanks Tex

oh oh another problem

i was out tinkering last night and noticed that the a/c suction line is dripping on the heater hose and the heater hose is allowing the water to drip on the #4 plug wire and its starting to pond around the boot top. well... i fixed that, went to a local a/c supply house, and bought a can of "no sweat" and applied it to the line of the a/c and it stopped it. it was a pain getting back to it. had to pull the terminal block again just to access the area adjacent to the line. will watch it and see how long it lasts in this heat (95 today).

The cause of my #4 Miswire was fluid in the sparkplug cavity. I pulled the plug and it was wet. The plug wire and top of the spark plug were soaked with some fluid that was oily to the touch but had the consistancy of water. You might be on to something with the AC line dripping.
