cobra heads

Does anyone know what kind of power gains you can achieve by swapping on the cobra 4v heads on a 5.4. I know it boosts the mustang from 260 to 320 hp but what would it do on say a 235hp 5.4? What if combined with a superchager? I am trying to figure out some good performance mods for my truck its pretty stock right now any info would be appreciated.

just my uninformed guess, but i dont think the heads match up. i believe that some things work for the 5.4 and not the 4.6 because the heads are different sizes. and next, i'm sure the lightning guys would have done the change if it was possible.

i believe the 5.4 and the mustang 4.6 use the same heads, but different cams. sean hyland offers a supercharged 5.4 dohc engine.

Cool

HI!... The 4-valve 4.6 heads will bolt on to a 5.4, but don't think that, that's there is to it. There is no intake that will bolt to the 5.4 which will also bolt up to the 4-valve heads. You would have to have a custom intake manifold built or TRY to get one off the 5.4 4-valve from the MUSTANG COBRA "R". GOOD LUCK!lol!. You will also have to change the front timing chain cover, timing chainsn gears, adjusters, some of the accesories. You will have to switch over to a non "COP" (coil on plug) set-up. There is a ton of items to change to do that kind of conversion. It's not worth it. If you have a older 5.4, then get some "P.I" heads and intake. Then get yourself a supercharger like the MAGNACHARGER or ATI. Or you can go the N/A route like me and still be fast.
