Dual 15 inch blades?
Dual 15 inch blades?
ok, i saw an add for flex-a-lite new dual 15 inch fans. thats pretty good, but neal has dual 16's! and well, i don't remember, but there was a thread on a certain kind of fan that tends to break, and parts go into the engine and break stuff, and i don't remember if it was flex-a-lite. or are theirs the ones that, um, "flex" the faster you go? or should i play it right and try to get the ones neal has got? whered neal get his? anyone? i think they are NPP?
Neal's are NPP's. NPP is Neal's company, I think it's like Newman Performance products and will do hold me to it might be available from Mike (superchips distribuitor). Last I heard they were not out yet. I would like to find out if Neal's kit is done and how much it is. I myself would like to know as I have been looking at the Flex-a-lite unit. It flows an ungodly 5500CFM. Wonder what Neals will do.
I just installed the Flexalite dual 15" fans this weekend (model 270). I can tell you that they diefinitely pull some air. Installation took about 3 hours b/c of trying to make it a very clean installation. I'll tell you in about a week about the gas millage but i can go ahead and tell you that there is some performance to be gained....definitely nothing big but every little bit helps. I'll also be going to the track on Friday so i will be able to tell you how much they really do help.
I am told that Derale makes an excellent kit for these F-150s: Dual 16 inch fans, the best electric motors in the business, and the heaviest wiring harness, and plenty of cfm. I will be ordering this very kit within the next week. It is my understanding that Derale is the best available, and no, I'm not their salesman.
HI!... SOON! Mike and I are currently trying to work out a deal with DERALE to get a better deal going. We'll let everyone know when were going to be open for buisness.

Derale makes an dual fan setup for our trucks? Really, I never knew that. Can you give us a part# and palce to purchase? All I could find was crappy little dual fan that pushes less than 2000cfm, stock No. 16812. Derale makes great fans, would like to have that over Flex-a-lite if it's possible.
Who has the best price on the Flex-a-lite setup?

Summit and Jegs i believe are gonna have the best prices available for the Flex-a-lite dual 15" fans....best i could find anyway. One is selling the complete kit for $379 and the other is $389. I believe Summit has the lower price but i am not for certain.

Yeah, I checked them and got about the same prices online, Summit was like 389 and Jegs was 393. I find this just a little high. Heck you could buy two 15's or 16's and controller for about $100, you just don't get that dual fan shroud setup. I guess if you want it, you gotta pay. I'm going to hold off a little while longer to see if I find it cheaper or something with the the Derale or NPP comes up.

Mine just arrived from Jegs today. I will be doing install this weekend. $401.00 to the door. 3 hours looks about right. Looks like a nice kit. Can't wait to install it.
Maybe tomorrow??? Busy day though. Cobra to Ford for head gasket. Truck needs smog, have to move my shop due to rennovations. Ah heck, my problems can't be that bad.

Hey MKTRUCK,
I saw in your sig you have a 1999 Cobra. My friend has a black one with aftermarket headers, h-pipe, no cats, and dual exhaust. Man that is one NICE car. He's thinking about regearing the rear end, gearing the 5th gear for more use and getting a 6 - 8# charger.
Just thought I'd say congrats on having the best Cobra Ford has built in 35 years and will probably build for a long time. It's really special because it's the year Shelby himself came back to Ford to build this car. Can't go too wrong with a hand built engine.

Thanks thewhiteford. That is what SVT said when they built it. Then they built the Y2K R model and said the same thing. Now the R model would have been nice. But the price was about 27K more than I would want to spend. Which brings me to the trucks I looked at today at Ford. 37K for an F250 4x4 Powerstroke with extended cab. I'm trembling with fear as I will need a new truck in one year.
Anyway the '03 Cobra comes out within several weeks. 390 posted horsepower. Probably the best modern Cobra of all time and the only true pony car until the GM boy's start building the Firebird and Camaro again.
The fan comes with everything by the way. I'll let everyone know what the install went like.

Fan is in. Piece of cake. I did not wire in an auxilary on/off switch. For now it will be ignition(with temp sensor) and AC controlled only.
I can see where the claim of 12 ponies comes from as the truck runs nice and quiet without the fan and clutch assembly.
If I have any tire burning, rubber marking, asphalt shreading off the line events today with my 1000 pounds of tools in the back. I will let you know.
