accelerator sticking - almost blew up my engine
When I started my screw this morning, the accelerator stuck, and it sounded like the engine was so revved it was going to blow up. Had to shut off the truck, and restart, and the same thing happened, shut off, and started again and it slowly returned to normal ? Any one else with this problem ?

i installed a bbk 75mm throttle body on my '97, 4.6 f-150 recently. easy install btw. then went for a test drive...after warm-up, i nailed it...stuck throttle--wide open! turned engine off and braked over to side of road. started back up--ran normal? checked th. body, cables, spring, th. plate--everything normal. throttle plate would not bind. still haven't nailed it again. don't think it was floor mat but will take it out just in case.

I have a 2001 Expedition and I have twice experienced my accelerator getting stuck. Luckily the accelerator released itself after one or two seconds. Both times were while on the freeway and both occured when I had the accelerator fully pressed trying to go up an incline. When it happened the first time, I thought my cruise control had inadvertently engaged itself. Another thought was my floor mat may have gotten caught, but now I think the problem may be correlated with my new high flow air intake system I had installed. The reason I think the two may be correlated is because I had never experienced this problem with the vehicle before having the air intake installed. Does anyone know if this is possible?
