Post Oil filter study

I've posted elsewhere about my concerns with K&N air filters. Here is another study on oil filters. Pretty interesting. If you have seen it already, no big deal. If not, very interesting

I read this report and it freaked me out! I have been using FRAM filters for years....and luckily with very good results. After reading this report though, I will NOT be buying anymore FRAM filters. I became especially concerned after reading the testimonial from a Quality Engineer, (Ex one that is), that worked there and said there was absolutely NO regard for product quality AT ALL in their manufacturing process. I have worked in Automotive Manufacturing for many years and I know what can happen without controls in place.

I went out and bought up a couple of Motorcraft filters at Wal-Mart. I am about 800 miles from my oil change and will use the first one then along with the "ole-trusty" Mobil 1 5W-30.

I've seen this before and it is an eye opener.

Personally I think people are getting a little too extreme on these concerns. I've seen info that leads me to believe that most fuel filters allow larger particles into the engine than most oil filters will pass.

There are a lot of very high mile vehicles which used all the "worst" filters and lubricants over the years. According to some of these new studies and theories, they should have all died at an early age.
