Why is the Dodge the same MSRP as last year? The cheapend them up. They used to have rear fender liners. Not anymore. The new Dodges look (up close) quite a bit "cheaper" than the older ones.

Why does Dodge get dragged into these threads everytime? They should'nt even be compared to the Fords or the Cheby's.

A Dodge is an import. Sad but true. Or should i say your money, after you buy one, get's exported. How's that.

I know how Ford can cut prices. Fill the empty hole in the middle of the engine with a cam and pushrods. No reason why a 4.6 should be as big or bigger than a Cheby 8.1.

The only people who complain about leather seats, are people who have never had them. I'd take vinyl over cloth. A scratched leather seat is a ripped cloth one. I wish i had leather in my truck. The next one has leather and all the toy's Ford is willing to engineer and sell me. Except my next will be a SD 250.

My Cheby is a solid axle, my Ford is an IFS. To be honest, they both handle and ride pretty good. I really don't have a preference.

Unhappy

You BOYS need to get off the idea that because something is marketed as "NEW" it must be better. Overhead cam vs valve......so what? BOTH have been around a long time. BOTH have +/- . Forget a full redesign. How about an improved model. With a decent manual transmission? I like my 4.2L...but the transmission is a piece of junk. Very tempermental. Garbage. Makes me want to go back to point and click autos.. The truck looks good. Why change it?

Hey, I NEED a truck for work, fishing, camping, road trips, etc... I practically live in mine!!! I NEED cup holders and I actually sleep better in my truck than my own bed (Wife not there. Can't kick me for snoring). :-)

I love my truck!!! In the imortal words of Rodney Carrington, "I getting married to my pickup truck." "The exhaust pipes are tighter than my ex-wife"
Sick stuff huh?

Had to add a lighter side to this ya know?

For those that do not know, pick up trucks and suvs are the cash cows of ther big three. Per Wards Auto (trade magazine for the auto manufacturing community) the average GROSS profit full size trucks deliver is in the $8,000 to $10,000 range (to the manufacture not the dealer) depending on the manufacturer. Toyata has been trying hard to get in on the act in a bigger way for the last few years now and Nissan will soon introduce a full size pick up followed by a full size suv. All of them are trying very hard to eat away at Ford's market share.

The most alarming thing this artical points out is the cost advantage that gm/cheby have over Ford in producing trucks. Yes gm can better afford big rebates in an attemt to take the sales leadership role and judging from past experiances (gm practically invented rebates to move vehicals) they will do all they can.

Ford needs to address the cost per unit of manufacture and in a hurry.

BTW, NASCAR (the WWF of racing)
Carbonfiber is not a high temp tolerant material and can also be some what brittle compared to ferrous/non ferrous metals, they use high strength, forged steel and titainium for engine internals
