Question Does the truck's MPG improve with the Superchip?

I was wondering if the members of this board actually notice a difference in their fuel economy after they installed the superchip? My 1999 F-250 Super Duty 5.4 gets between 8-10 miles per gallon so, I was wondering whether or not the superchip would be worth it in increased fuel economy versus cost of the chip? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Bugman.

Cool

Do a seach for MPG in the chip section. This has been covered by Mike T. many times.

Cool

Mine occasionally gets 1mpg more. The performance and trans shifts are nice though.

I have not noticed much of a gain so far...but the engine still needs more time to break in.

Exclamation

Mine went down a little. Could be the oxiginated gas since I got in in the fall. I still would get it if just for the performance.

Thumbs up

Mine went up quite a bit but I tried not to "feel" the chip to much. I drove more conservative. I can get better than I ever did, although I can also stick my toe in it and get the same ol' thing.

Many chips require the use of higher octane fuel. So you'd have to get a few better MPG's just to break even in daily driving..

If you want more power and better shifts, then the chips are the way to go..

If you want better mpg's then you should look elsewhere..
