5.4L and Bosch +4 Sparkplugs...

Howdy. I'm new here so be gentle fellas.....

I am about to embark on a long and uncertain journey. I have a new member in my family and its name is Beef. Beef is a 2002 F150 FX4, 355LS, etc, etc... with 3000 miles on it. Upgrades so far includes a Vortex dual exhaust system, and an K&N intake kit. Next on the list is replacing the stock plugs with Bosch +4 plugs...

My previous vehicle was a 1987 Bronco II with 248k on it and I changed the plugs three times on that without a problem.... but looking at Beef, it seems as if I am not in Kansas anymore. Would one of my fellow F150 enthuseists please help me with any advice, in particular where to start/begin? My knowledge of these newer Triton engines is limited, should I have a mechanic do the work for me?

ANY guidance will be much appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

Expect to take atleast two+ hours to change the plugs. You also need some short & long extensions and wobblers(sp?) and patience.
As for the Bosch +4 plugs, I've heard good and bad reviews on the plugs. In the F150's, some have good idle and better throttle after installing the Bosch +4's. While others had a bad idle or mis underload.

The ONLY advantage to platinum plugs, is that they last longer. If you plan on using a high-performance ignition, such as the new MSD Tracker, then use a good copper core plug. The Hi-po ignitions need to "see" resistance and the plat plugs have virtually none.
