Tune Up
I tried using Bosch, Autolite, and one other on my 98 4.6 and ALWAYS got the check engine light and a SEVERE miss. I used to use Bosch in my T-bird with no problem. I ended up just putting the Motorcraft Platinums in and had no problem. I know there are many people here that have used others with no problem. I wish I could have been one of them. :-)
I always changed my plug wires when changing plugs just be thorough.
If you have never changed plugs in one of these heres what I found.
Have lots of socket extentions and swivels in various sizes for the back plugs. A stubby socket wrench seemed to work the best. Don't be afraid to undo the bracket and move the wires that sit on the compartment wall on the passenger side so that you have room to get back there.
I have a 01 now and am still trying to figure out what the hell happend to the spark plugs and wires. :-)
